At Capricorn Coast Trail Rides we believe that when learning to ride it is important to also learn how to look after horses. Our lessons are better described as horsemanship classes, where as a student you learn both riding skills as well as the skills you will need to eventually look after your own horse. We do not teach any specific discipline, but good basic riding and ground skills.
For lessons we require that you wear long trousers and enclosed shoes, we provide riding helmets.

Saturday and Sunday mornings. The morning classes run throughout the year, starting at 9am during the winter months and 8am in summer the classes run for 2 hours. The students assist saddling up their horses, have a brief lesson on the ground on subjects such as; horse nutrition, first aid, tack, then have a lesson on horse back. |
The classes are divided into two sessions on the weekends, students being placed in a class according to their riding ability. Our riding lessons concentrate on teaching good control of the horse at the walk, trot and canter.
Classes are finished with games on horseback. These classes are very popular, currently there is no waiting list for a permanent place, please call Madeline for more information. |

These run every Wednesday during the school holidays (according to the state school terms), for those kids who would like to come and try riding a horse or are too busy during term time with other sports.
| The riders spend the whole morning with us (8am - 11.30am during summer), we teach basic riding skills, horsemanship on the ground and at the end of the class we play games on horseback lessons, it is lots of fun and great value. |
